My acquaintance with Mr. Feng Yidai was in the summer of 1982. That afternoon I was reading at home and comrade Lin Na, the elder commander who had retreated to the second line, called me and said that it was Mr Feng’s behalf going to Tianjin to open the “NLD” and let me talk about a prose. . Now, the time has been flying completely for 10 years, but I still clearly remember the scene. I was in a staggering mood. I wonder if he was going to talk to me unexpectedly. He criticized some books and periodicals published by Baihua Literature and Art Publishing House and praised the elegant design of the essay books. His familiarity with the publishing work and his concern with the editing profession made me feel that he was an expert. This invisibility brought me closer to him. I feel honored to be able to meet such a knowledgeable old man. At the same time, I was very impressed with his approachableness and his gentle, low-slung words.
