我国传统的庭院大门,在两根门框的下端、门礅的上面,嵌着一对矩形的门槛,俗称“鸡腿槛”。见图1。由于它的结构是在方角的两面凿眼出榫(图2),如果没有掌握它的制作方法,就是把两根木料做成零件后,也无法将它装配在一起。有的只好将榫修细,将眼掏大,勉强将它装成。从外表上看,好像还过得去。可是它的内部结构,却留有很大的空隙,以致达不到质量要求,降低使用年限。甚至有的人,为了便于安装,将框侧面的榫锯
In China’s traditional courtyard gates, there are a pair of rectangular thresholds embedded in the lower ends of the two door frames and above the thresholds, commonly known as “drumsticks.” see picture 1.
