Objective To summarize the experience of Kiwami catheter in the treatment of patients with severe coronary artery disease undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods Forty-four patients with severe coronary artery disease underwent PCI with 4F Kiwami catheter. The clinical and imaging data of these patients were retrospectively analyzed and the surgical results, intraoperative complications, and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) were collected. RESULTS: Forty-three patients (98%) were successfully placed in the stent through the Kiwami catheter and achieved the success criteria of angiography. One patient (2%) was unable to be implanted into the stent due to the extension of the balloon to the distal segment of the vessel. All patients had no serious complications such as perforation of coronary artery, acute occlusion of blood vessel and detachment of stent during operation. MACE did not occur in all patients during hospitalization and follow-up. Conclusions The Kiwami catheter is easy to operate and easy to pass calcified lesions with good safety and high success rate.
