生物工程是国际上一门新兴的高技术学科。运用生物工程进行药用植物组织培养,将改变传统的生产方式,解决过去用常规生产方法所不能解决的问题,对中药的生产、科研、经营将会引起突破性的变革,前景十分广阔。植物组织培养经过半个多世纪的历程,特别是五十年代后期“细胞全能性”被证实以后,有了突飞猛进的发展,这一新技术已渗透到植物学的各个分支学科之中。植物组织和细胞培养是既通向生产又通向分子生物学间的一座桥梁。如同基因工程和发酵技术一样,组织培养在生物工程中占有重要地位。
Bioengineering is an emerging high-tech discipline in the world. The use of bioengineering for tissue culture of medicinal plants will change the traditional mode of production and solve the problems that can not be solved by conventional production methods. The production, research and management of Chinese medicine will cause a breakthrough change with a bright future. After more than half a century of plant tissue culture, especially the “Cell Almighty” in the late fifties, it has witnessed rapid development. This new technology has penetrated into all branches of botany. Plant tissue and cell culture are both bridges to production and access to molecular biology. Like genetic engineering and fermentation, tissue culture plays an important role in bioengineering.
