One is the physical existence on the biological level; the other is the existence of the meaning on the symbol level and the existence of the sign muscle mass. In other words, the building is also facing two deaths: a physical death (a material destruction); a meaning death (a position in the symbolic order that makes up the reality is erased). The former is the manifestation of the irreversible natural laws. The body of an architectural body is old, sick, and dead, and is not fundamentally different from human beings. The latter is determined by the symbolic order of reality—in the words of Slavoze Zizek, the greater Other.
