The authors measured the average retinal circulation time (referred to as MCT) and vascular volume in 21 normal subjects and 32 diabetic patients and calculated segmental blood flow (referred to as SBF). Normal MCT was 4.0 ± 1.1 seconds, diabetics 4.2 ± 1.9 seconds. Both diabetic patients with retinopathy than normal and diabetic patients without retinopathy
