According to the “Pharmaceutical Industry Outlook” article published by Barclays de Zoete Wedd (analysis of trends in the pharmaceutical industry between 1990 and 1985-1990). The total turnover of the top 50 best-selling drugs in the world in 1990 was approximately 31.142 billion U.S. dollars, up 17.9% from 26.492 billion U.S. dollars in 1989.
