从西安市往南,由汤峪入秦岭,沿子午古道翻越分水岭,过宁陕,到柞水,再往南,就是凤凰古镇了。凤凰镇地属柞水境内,西邻镇安,东接山阳,南望湖北,是古代长安通往两湖的重要途径。可以想象,江南水乡多才子,千百年来,有多少迁客骚人、学士墨客,就是在这条深山古道上,往来跋涉、做着出官入仕的美梦的。号称“天上九头鸟,地上湖北佬”的商贾车旅,也曾在这条路上摩肩接踵地辚辚驶过。对于他们来说,这条上达长安帝都的绵绵山路,就是通往功名利禄的通天大道。而至于那些落了第的失意文人、谪了官的外放朝士,走在这条悠悠长安道上,则不免“前途错落兼风雨”,“回望长安泪满襟”了。也许,正因为如此,这个坐落在秦岭深处的凤凰镇,才出人意料地充满了古文化的气息,连空气中都荡漾着唐风宋韵。
