A survey of foreign art auction markets shows that photography has long been an independent visual art form and occupies a place, and gradually formed the European and American New York as the center, Asia, Japan-centered photography art auction market. During the 30-year history of photo auctions, the price of auction photos increased between 10 and 20 times. Sotheby’s and Christie’s, the two largest art auction houses in the world, hold special auctions of photographic works each year, and there are also some excellent images in big shots around the world. In addition to the old photos and news documentary photos, experimental photography works of art are gradually opening up the market, showing an upward trend. Among them, still life works by overseas contemporary photographers are favored by the auction market, reaching a maximum of more than 800,000 U.S. dollars. From February to April, art photography in New York City can be found everywhere in contemporary art photography.
