明末清初以黄宗羲、万斯同等为代表的浙江史学派的形成,有其政治、社会等原因,但毫无例外,他们的学术成就还有一个重要原因,即是他们都拥有大量的藏书,例如黄宗羲有续抄堂,万斯同有寒松堂等。黄宗羲为学术研究还四出访书,曾得范氏同意破例登天一阁,“悉发其藏”得读未见书;又赴绍兴钮氏世学楼、祁氏澹生堂抄书,后又得读南京黄居中千顷堂、常熟钱谦益绛云楼等江南著名藏书楼所藏图书,为其学术研究搜辑资料,他的学术成就和藏书楼关系甚为密切。黄的弟子万斯同和后来全祖望等浙东史学派的学术成就几乎都与丰富的藏书有关。故而,浙东学术和浙东藏书事业的发达是密不可分的,是相辅相成的关系。
