氮(艹卓)脒青霉素(Mecillinam,MPC)系一种具新型结构的半合成脒基青霉素。与其他青霉素或半合成青霉素不同,它的抗菌谱较窄,对革兰氏阴性菌,特别是大肠杆菌和伤寒杆菌的作用更为突出。临床治疗尿路感染、细菌性痢疾和伤寒有明显效果。抗菌作用MPC对大肠杆菌、阴沟杆菌、肺炎杆菌、沙门氏菌、痢疾杆菌及某些沙雷氏菌株有高度抗菌活性,尤对大肠杆菌作用见强,为其他内酰胺抗生素所不及,最低抑菌浓度(MIC)<0.05μg/ml;对沙门氏菌的MIC为0.5~0.05mg/L;肺炎杆菌和克雷勃氏菌对MPC的敏感范围是0.39~>100mg/L,变形杆菌的敏感范围较窄,50%能被本品0.1μg/ml所抑制;对革兰氏阳性菌,如葡萄球菌、链球菌作用差;粪链球菌和绿脓杆菌对本品耐药。
