“尧天舜日”,是古往今来流传在中国作为最理想时代的代号,它以巨大的号召力几乎成为人们的口头禅了。原因是尧舜二帝能把他们的国家拱手让给了外姓贤人,这在“家天下”的时代里,尤其封建时期君主的心目中确是个惊世创举。它说明这两位君主是以天下为心、以万民福利为前提而做的高尚举措。这举措固然是难能圣明的,而这两位圣君的深入人心,更由孔孟二位儒学大师的极端尊崇而加重了人们对它的认识。“仲尼祖述尧舜”,“孟子道性善,言必称尧舜”,见《中庸》与《孟子滕文公章句》便充分说明了孔孟的信仰程度。
“Yao and Shun days” is the code that circulated throughout China from the past as the most ideal era. With its huge appeal, it has almost become the people’s mantra. The reason is that both Yao and Shun were able to hand over their country to surnames and sages outside China. This is indeed a startling event in the “world of family” era, especially in the eyes of feudal monarchs. It shows that these two monarchs are high-minded initiatives based on the assumption of the world as a precondition for the welfare of all nations. Although this move is difficult to prove, and the deep understanding of the two holy monarchs, but also by Confucius and Mencius two extremist masters exacerbated people’s understanding of it. “Zhong Nzu Shu Yao and Shun”, “Mencius Taoist good, saying Yao and Shun must say”, see the “doctrine of the mean” and “Mencius Teng wen gong sentence” will fully explain the degree of faith of Confucius and Mencius.
