习语是语言中的重要组成部分,是丰富语言形式、体现语言文化的重要因素。从古至今,动物一直是人们探索自然的对象。汉语和英语都有着丰富的动物习语。然而由于东西方文化在经济发展,地理环境和神话传说方面存在诸多差异,东西方人民在对待同一种动物上也有着不同的态度和情感。本文将以实例为基础,对比探析汉英两种语言中的动物习语。 Idioms are an important part of the language and an important factor in enriching the language form and embodying language and culture. From ancient times to the present, animals have always been the object of people’s exploration of nature. Chinese and English are rich in animal idioms. However, due to the many differences between eastern and western cultures in terms of economic development, geographical environment and myths and legends, East and West people also have different attitudes and feelings toward the same kind of animals. Based on the examples, this article compares and analyzes animal idioms in both Chinese and English languages.
