张之洞在中国教育史上第一个提出德、智、体全面发展的思想,并在他兴办的数十所新式学堂里践行他的这种思想。张之洞的体育思想是他洋务思想的重要组成部分,对中国近代体育事业的发展作出了应有的贡献,值得深入剖析研究。
In the history of education in China, Chang Chih-tung first proposed the idea of all-round development of moral, intellectual and physical development and practiced his ideas in dozens of new-style schools which he founded. Zhang Zhidong’s sports thought is an important part of his Westernization thought and made due contributions to the development of modern Chinese sports. It is worth further analyzing and studying.
