Although buckminsterfullerene C_(60) was discovered by Kroto et al. in 1985 andits cage structure model was proposed, the extensive and intensive investigation on C_(60)has been made rapidly after Kratschmer et al.reported the method for theproduction of C_(60) in gram quantities. Owing to the identical physical environment ofeach carbon atom on C_(60), for chemical modification of C_(60) it is not easy to controlthe attaching sites on C_(60) cage and the number of the modified funtional groups.Though there are already many papers concerning the chemical modification of C_(60),recently only a few of them reported the preparation of pure single C_(60) derivatives.Most of the products reported are mixtures.
