建构主义是源自关于儿童认知发展的理论,主张学习是在一定的情境即社会文化背景下借助其他人的帮助,通过人际间的协作活动而实现的意义建构过程。建构主义理论指导下的外语课堂教学活动特别强调师生之间关系的重要性。既强调了学习者的认知主体作用,又强调了教师的指导作用;教师在课堂教学活动中主要担当设计者、组织者和顾问等角色,从而促进学生不断地提高他们对语言实践活动参与的积极性和自主性,进而提高他们的语言运用能力。
