古往今来,作家们创作了大量优秀的旅游文学作品,这其中自然也包括了唐代文学巨匠柳宗元的作品。柳宗元在永州的旅行日记是闻名遐迩的山水名篇,其中最著名的是被后人奉为山水小品经典的《永州八记》。柳宗元的旅游文学作品主要有游记和纪游诗两大类,一般被称为“山水文学”。然而,山水文学与旅游文学还是有一些区别的,有的游记和纪游诗并不与山水有关,而是用旅游活动过程中所看见的人们生活为题材。柳宗元的文学作品对湖南永州和广西柳州旅游的发展做出了巨大贡献,它使两地的旅游资源种类更加丰富,宣传了两地的旅游资源,提升了两地旅游资源的质量,更是两地旅游文化的精髓。
