For a long time, many of the party history monographs and textbooks all believed that the Red Army marched through 11 provinces. Some newspaper articles recently suggested that the Red Army’s Long March passed through 12 provinces. The Long March refers to the large-scale strategic transfer that the Red Army of the Chinese Workers, Peasants and Workers made from 1934 to 1936 to the revolutionary bases in north and south of the Yangtze River to Shaanxi and Gansu provinces. The troops participating in this expedition include not only the three main forces of the First, Second and Fourth Forces of the Chinese Workers ’and Peasants’ Red Army, but also the Red Army 25 and Hongxi Road
