时间与空间构成全球通史最基本的坐标系。因此,讲授全球通史时,一定要有充分的时间意识与空间意识。时间意识主要应该包括两个方面。一是当我们面对历史上任何具体的时间时,一定不要忘记人类历史的总体的时间——人类最早的文明出现直到今天的数千年时间。二是面对世界历史,一定不要忘记宇宙形成、地球形成、生命出现以来的时间,或者“自然的时间”。空间意识主要应该包括四个方面。一是当我们面对历史上任何局部的空间时,一定不要忘记人类活动的总体空间。二是注重从古至今整个人类活动空间在量与质两方面逐渐的扩展。三是注重“社会空间”与“自然空间”的异同及其相互关系。四是注重人类从古至今基本生存、活动空间的狭隘与脆弱。
Time and space constitute the most basic coordinate system of the history of the world. Therefore, when teaching the history of the world, there must be sufficient awareness of time and space. Time awareness should mainly include two aspects. The first is that when we face any specific time in history, we must not forget the overall time of human history - the earliest civilization of mankind until thousands of years today. Second, in the face of world history, we must not forget the time since the formation of the universe, the formation of the earth, and the emergence of life, or “natural time.” Space consciousness should mainly include four aspects. First, when we face any partial space in history, we must not forget the overall space for human activities. Second, pay attention to the gradual expansion of the entire human activities space in both quantity and quality since ancient times. Thirdly, pay attention to the similarities and differences between “social space” and “natural space” and their relations. Fourth, pay attention to the basic survival of mankind since ancient times, activities of the narrow and fragile space.
