无论中外古今，无论宫廷与民间，无论主流与非主流，史学大多具有参与意识。历史学家应该积极地参与现实生活，但历史学家参与现实社会生活，主要是以史学来参与而非其他。因此，历史学家如要积极参与现实生活，首先必须积极参与历史生活，亦即走进历史，理解历史，把自己重新体验并赋予生命的真正历史奉献给人类。百对当代人类文明重物质轻精神的严重缺失，历史学家不应该保持沉默，更不应该无所作为。必须和其他人文科学、社会科学乃至广大科技专家中的有识之士一起，共同纠正现今文明的缺失，并且用自己的学术精品，用自己的智慧与热情，营造健康向上的使人类免于继续沉沦的精神文明。
Both ancient and modern at home and abroad, both court and non-governmental, both mainstream and non-mainstream, most of history have a sense of participation. Historians should actively participate in real life, but historians are involved in the actual social life, mainly through historical participation rather than others. Therefore, if historians actively participate in real life, they must first actively participate in historical life, that is, they should walk into history and understand history, and dedicate their true experience of re-experience and life to human beings. Hundreds of serious deficiencies in the material and spiritual light of contemporary human civilization, historians should not be silent, but should not do nothing. We must work together with other people of the humanities, social sciences, and even people of insight who are experts in science and technology to work together to rectify the current lack of civilization and use our own academic excellence to create a healthy and upward-oriented mankind from continuing Degradation of spiritual civilization.
