An ideal matching layer (PML) absorption boundary condition and a pattern matching method are applied to the analysis of the structure of the multi-segment planar optical waveguide. An improved PML absorption boundary condition of the planar optical waveguide structure is given, and the optical field distribution of the optical waveguide is numerically The results show that the PML absorption boundary conditions are applied to the structural analysis of multi-segment planar optical waveguide. The method can also be used to analyze planar optical waveguide with complex structure.
