金豆(Svar Chintan Swingle)俗称山桔,为芸香料,金柑属的常绿灌木或小乔木。其叶片小,长为3.5～7厘米、宽1.5～2.5厘米,刺短而坚细。属亚热带树种,原产于我国南方,多生长在山野岩石间。性喜温暖,萌芽迟,一般在4月下旬萌发,6～8月开花,花小白色,果小近于圆形,其直径0.8～1.2厘米,果汁少,几乎不具果肉,味酸苦。种子为卵形或卵圆形,肥大,1～3粒,秋冬成熟,橙黄色。观果时期长,一直至5月上旬立夏不落果,可采取摘果,让其萌发新芽。可作元旦、春节期间供观赏的观果盆景优良树种。
