本刊高级顾问张光斗同志因病于2013年6月21日在北京逝世,享年101岁。1934年秋,张光斗考取清华大学水利专业留美公费生后赴美留学,先后获得美国加州伯克利大学和哈佛大学硕士学位。1937年抗战爆发后,毅然放弃继续深造的机会回国工作。1949年10月起在清华大学任教,1955年当选为中国科学院首批学部委员,1956年加入中国共产党,1994年当选为中国工程院首批院士,曾获全国先进工作者、国家科技进步二等奖、全国高校优秀教学成果一等奖、光华科技成就奖、水利事业功勋奖、何梁何利科技进步奖、美国加州伯克利大学“哈兹国际奖”等多项国际国内荣誉和奖励,是中国水工结
Our senior adviser, Comrade Zhang Guangdou, died of a disease in Beijing on June 21, 2013, at the age of 101. In the autumn of 1934, Zhang Guangdou was admitted to Tsinghua University for his major in water conservancy and was admitted to the United States after studying in the United States. He received his master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and Harvard University successively. After the outbreak of the war of resistance in 1937, resolutely gave up the opportunity to pursue further studies in China. He began to teach at Tsinghua University in October 1949 and was the first member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1955. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1956 and was the first academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1994. He was awarded the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award , National Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award, Guanghua Science and Technology Achievement Award, Water Conservancy Awards, He Liang He Li Technology Progress Award, University of California, Berkeley “Haaz International Award ” and many other international and domestic honors and awards, China Water Work knot
