Using WMS-CR. WISC-CR and four implicit memory tasks (preference, free association, radical comprehension and word recognition) were used to evaluate the IQ, memory, and priming effects in one patient with right-sided hypoplasia and two normal controls. Found that patients with mental retardation, severe memory impairment, but the priming effect is normal. Tip right brain hypoplasia onset effect and intelligence test results were separated. Since priming effects are an important, unconscious human ability to acquire, the study suggests that people with mental retardation or brain damage may still have better unconscious acquisition abilities, which may be relevant for rehabilitation of patients with special education and clinical brain injury The research also suggests that current intelligence tests fail to reflect unconscious aspects of brain function and suggest that future intelligence tests should include the measurement of unconscious acquisition ability.
