谚语在英美文学发展过程中历史比较悠久,它不仅代表着劳动人民生活智慧的结晶,也是民风民俗的综合体现,经过了世世代代的传授,形成了言简意赅、朗朗上口、通俗易懂等特点。文学作品中谚语的使用频率非常高,这不仅能增加文章的说服力和亲切感,还能使语言生动有趣,诙谐幽默,增强可读性。因此,深入了解英美文学作品中谚语的传神意义及其翻译方法,对于跨文化交际以及提高翻译质量来说具有积极意义。
Proverbs have a long history in the process of the development of Anglo-American literature. They not only represent the crystallization of working people’s wisdom in life, but also reflect the customs of folk customs. Through the teachings from generation to generation, proverbs form concise, catchy, and easy-to-understand . The use of proverbs in literary works is very frequent, which not only increases the persuasiveness and intimacy of the articles, but also makes the language vivid, humorous and readable. Therefore, having a deep understanding of the expressive meaning of proverbs in English and American literary works and their translation methods is of positive significance for intercultural communication and enhancement of translation quality.
