At present, CT plays a huge role in the diagnosis of acute stroke. However, CT changes within 24 hours after onset of cerebral infarction are not obvious, which is not conducive to early diagnosis. This retrospective study of 100 patients found that early CT signs of acute middle cerebral artery (MCA) infarction have great value in predicting the site and extent of infarction. Methods One hundred and fifty patients with first episode of MCA ischemia were enrolled in this study from 562 patients admitted to Besser Hospital in the United States from 1989 to 1990 who were excluded from cerebral hemorrhage, recurrent cerebral infarction and TIA. Objects; including 48 males and 52 females, with an average age of 70.8 years. All subjects were admitted before and after the show
