【Abstract】In recent years a series of reform of the education in our country， Senior School English teaching has entered a new period， The traditional teaching concept needs to innovate.In recent years， the study of students learning style became more popular， especially in some specific method of study， So， Under the background of new curriculum reform， the optimization of high school English learning is very important.

A. the characteristics of the course
1. The new curriculum
High school English curriculum has the contents of the new curriculum structure， and from the new material new features， In layout directory in the directory each unit has a specific target outstanding teaching. In the arrangement of curriculum structure way also is new， Content is relatively close to the very rich and life time.
2. Of high demand
（1） Pronunciation and intonation
Students in junior high school time， When learning English need to master the pronunciation of each word， pronunciation and intonation， and reading aloud can of sentences， but high school English is need to listen to the tape of different countries use English conversation， which requires the students to overcome the accent of frustration.
（2） Vocabulary
Middle school students English vocabulary master at around 2000 is ok， but in high school and asked the vocabulary will rise to more than 4500. Master degree in vocabulary， not simple memory of knowledge， students are required to apply each term can be flexible.
（3） Grammar
Compared with the junior middle school English grammar， the high school English grammar is more complicated， Junior high school only have simple eight too and clause， verb infinitive， while high school also need to grasp the predicate verb， noun clauses， subjunctive mood， inversion， etc.
3. Learning methods
Entered high school， the way to learn English is different from before. Content is relatively small， the junior middle school English learning during the period of learning content and their simple， as long as the master a certain amount of vocabulary and simple grammar.
