Since jealousy has negative attributes contrary to social ethics, research on jealousy has been sidestepped by management scholars. Until recently, management scholars began to focus their attention on the jealousy in the workplace. Jealousy is defined as a complex and painful social sentiment that arises in the up-going comparison when one finds someone possessing one of the strengths or abilities that one wishes or lacks. Research on jealousy has a broad base in the field of psychology but is still scarce in the field of organizational behavior. Due to the universality of jealousy in the workplace, the paper sorts out the difference between jealousy and related concepts, the influencing factors of jealousy and its outcome variables from the perspective of jealousy in the workplace, and intends to further promote the domestic Field research.
