Writing novels as Second World War II Survivor, outside of Christa Wolf, Elsa Morante and Art Spiegelman, there is Patrick of France Modiano, until now, although Modiano’s novels in the United States triggered the most comments, but readers are few and far between. There are few translations of his work in English. He repeatedly (say stubbornly, too) returns to the same narrative venue - the French under German occupation - but the time and place he describes is still not as good as that of a French cultural survivor
