美国地球物理勘探工作者协会(Society of Exploration Geophysicists)简称SEG,是群众性的学术组织,该会过去曾屡次邀请我国同行参加年会。1978年学会恢复活动后,我国开始用中国地球物理学会的名义前往旧金山出席该协会第48届年会,1979年我国又去参加在路易斯安那州新奥尔良召开的第49届年会。今年是第50届年会,又值该协会成立五十周年纪念,我国又有9人以中国地球物理学会和中国石油学会的名义参加学术和纪念活动。
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists, or SEG for short, is a mass academic organization that has invited our country’s counterparts to the Convention many times in the past. After learning to resume activities in 1978, China began to travel to San Francisco to attend the 48th annual conference of the Association under the name of China Geophysical Society. In 1979, China went to attend the 49th annual conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year marks the 50th annual meeting, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Association. Another 9 people in China attended the academic and commemorative activities in the name of the China Geophysical Society and the Chinese Petroleum Institute.
