Anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) is a material with higher porosity. Its high specific surface area not only makes it easier to contact with the corrosive liquid, but also leads to the corroded liquid more likely to accumulate in the pores and accelerate the corrosion process. A common idea is to use solid oxide plugging holes to solve this problem. Another effective method is to use gas to block the pores. For example, a superhydrophobic coating is applied to the surface of the AAO to form a gas column in the pores so that the etching liquid can not penetrate into the pores.
