This article describes a temperature / voltage conversion probe that plugs directly into a typical digital multimeter for temperature readings. The whole device consists of circuit and probe two parts (see Figure 2). To obtain a voltage lower than the temperature sensor LM35 ground potential of 1.2V, the circuit added D_3, D_4. Resistor R_5 ensures that the sensor output voltage is negative relative to the ground potential of the DMM when measuring temperatures below 0 ° C. R_4 is used to match the probe output with a high impedance DMM input (typically Zin = 1MΩ).
