诺曼梅勒作为美国存在主义的代表人物,其著名作品《裸者与死者》已经发表就在美国引起了激烈反响。作品通过战场中的将军和士兵之间的关系,指明了当时美国社会中极权主义倾向,通过将军与士兵的互动进一步指明了极权主义对人类的危害。本文通过对《裸者与死者》的背景与内容进行分析,指出了作者如何利用小说中的人物来反映社会现实,同时分析了作品中所使用的写作手法。
As a representative of existentialism in the United States, Norman Mailer caused fierce repercussions in the United States when his famous work Naked and Dead has been published. Through the relationship between generals and soldiers in the battlefield, the work points out the tendency of totalitarianism in American society at that time and further indicates the total danger of totalitarianism to humankind through the interaction between generals and soldiers. By analyzing the background and content of “naked and dead”, this article points out how the author uses the characters in the novel to reflect the social reality and at the same time analyzes the writing techniques used in his works.
