碧落寺石窟为山西省文物保护单位,位于晋城市西北约7.5公里处的泽州县巴公镇南连氏村东(图一),背倚碧落山南麓,面对万松岭,是古泽州境内的名寺。据石窟西窟外石阶旁题记,寺始建于北魏太和六年(482年),完成于唐大和六年(832年),之后五代、宋、金、元、明、清历代都有重修。《山西通志》载,此寺古名圣佛院,宋治平中赐号治平院,元代更额碧落。碧落寺平面呈长方形,东西长达200多米,南北不逾百米,寺东残砖垣上刻石田垄记一
