刘稀土元素及其化合物的物性数据进行系统分析和研究,从中寻找出一些普遍规律,是一项十分有意义的工作。它有助于对稀土元素及其化合物性质的了解,促进稀土在各行各业中的广泛应用。 研究表明,如果以镧系元素及其化合物的物性数据P_i对其原子序数Z作图,则大多呈现出明显的四分组效应,或称为双-双效应,即镧系元素可按其性质分为四个组:La-Ce-Pr-Nd、Pm-Sm-Eu-Gd、Gd-Tb-Dy-Ho、Er-Tm-Yb-Lu,其中钆兼存于第二和第三组中。
