山东莱芜钢铁集团有限公司属国有大型钢铁联合企业,素有山东四大企业之一的美称,是国家重点扶持的520家企业之一。到2004年底,总资产301亿元,在岗职工3．7万人, 2004年全年生产钢658．3万吨,钢产量在全国冶金行业的排名上升到第11位,2005年登上千万吨钢铁强企的台阶,钢产量增长速度连续三年名列全国前20位钢铁企业第一位,跨入全国十大钢铁企业行列。
