大众文化的兴起是改革开放以来,尤其是上世纪90年代以来当代中国的一种引人瞩目的文化现象。它作为我国社会生活转型时期的文化,具有告别旧传统、探寻现代文化新生活的时代特性。现代陶艺将大众文化作为艺术的表达对象的原因是大众文化作为一套形象和符号体系,本身具有反映我国历史和现实的能力。大众文化本身不仅以其自身的方式折射出我国的历史和现实中的许多问题,而且大众文化本身也在生产、传播和消费过程中,也引发出许多前所未有的问题。艺术家们把大众文化引进艺术的根本目的在于,通过大众文化这一新的现实,重新面对和思考我国的艺术、我国的现实和我国的历史所存在的各种问题,并对它们给予新的表达和阐释。现代陶艺对大众文化的引入,使之具有了言说我国的历史和现实的能力,它直接叙述、反映和阐释了当下的文化和社会,是整个同时期社会文化精神的浓缩。
The rise of popular culture is a remarkable cultural phenomenon in contemporary China since the reform and opening up, especially since the 90s of last century.
