上海市第一次化学竞赛,是由上海市化学化工学会在1978年7月提出的。1979年初,在上海市科协普及部的领导下,学会与市教育局、市团委、市青年宫联合举办。经过反复研究,决定分组织辅导、笔试预赛、笔试决赛、实验考试、评选优秀等阶段,从1月到4月经过四个月才结束。学会组织了10次辅导报告,共有4,300多人次。十个区和十个县都选拔了学生来参加,笔试预赛共有3,100多名。结果获得80分以上优 The first chemical contest in Shanghai was proposed by the Shanghai Chemical Industry Society in July 1978.
