１９９９年在亚洲经济复苏和国家提高出口退税率等政策的刺激下，下半年外贸出口止跌回升，并表现出强劲的增长势头，１９９９年１－１１月外贸进出口总额达３２２９．９５亿美元，比上年同期增长１２．７％，其中出口１７４６．９７亿美元，比上年同期增长６．６％；进口１４８２．９８亿美元，比上年同期增长２０．９％。外贸企业商品销售利润降幅缩小，全国３２９家重点对外贸易企业１９９９年１－１１月商品销售利润５１．７亿元，为上年同期的８７．９％。商品销售利润在９９０万以上的企业有１３５％家。
In 1999, stimulated by policies such as the economic recovery in Asia and the improvement of export tax rebate rates by the state, foreign trade exports rebounded in the second half of the year and showed strong growth momentum. The sales profits of 329 key foreign trade enterprises from January to November of 1999 were 5.17 billion yuan, 87.9% of the same period of previous year. 135% of the companies whose sales of goods are above 9.9 million in profit.
