There are many ethnic groups in the three national migration corridors between the west and northwestern Yunnan Plateau, including the Tibet, Yi and Qiang ethnic groups. As the peoples of these ethnic groups live in alpine or dry-hot areas, the weather is cold, the wind is strong and the absolute temperature difference is large. In order to create a suitable living microclimate in such an environment, it is important to isolate it from external cold or dry heat. In this way, their buildings together represent a compact body, a thick outer wall and a few window openings. Traversing the mountains is the only way for ethnic migration, for the fight for space, there have been countless wars. Under the combined effect of nature and history, the architecture here shows a rich cultural connotation.
