人物肖像是油画特有的一种表现方式,也是绘画塑造人物形象不能为影像替代的特殊手段。人物肖像油画自油画作为一个画种诞生那天起,就被赋予为人物传神写照的重要功能。虽然照相术的发明和今天电子影像的普及,对人物肖像油画产生了巨大的冲击,但人物肖像油画仍然是不能被影像完全取代的一种绘画艺术。人物肖像油画所塑造的人物形象,不仅以绘画的方式传递了被表达对象的人物神情,而且融人和渗透了画家这个艺术主体的思想情感与艺术创造。
