统一战线工作是一项政策性很强的工作。中国革命的经验证明,如果没有一个中国共产党领导的包括全民族绝大多数人口的统一战线,中国革命是不可能取得成功的。老一辈无产阶级革命家不仅是革命统一战线的开创者,而且是积极的实践者。他们时时处处不忘统一战线,尊重党外朋友,以自己的言行去感化和团结党外人士。有着数十年戎马生涯的老革命家宋任穷两改横幅谈统战,即是一个范例。50年代初期,宋任穷兼任云南军区政委。云南起义的部队先称暂编12军、13军。通过民主运动,起义部队要求正式编入人民解放军。军区决定将他们与人民解放军12军、13军合编,
The United Front work is a very policy-oriented work. The experience of the Chinese revolution proves that the Chinese revolution can not succeed without the united front led by the Chinese Communist Party, which includes the overwhelming majority of the entire nation. The older generation of proletarian revolutionists are not only pioneers but also active practitioners of the revolutionary united front. They always forget the United Front from time to time, respect non-Party friends and use their own words and deeds to influence and unite non-Party members.
