In our department, milk and fat emulsions were used to label thoracic ducts before surgery to prevent chylothorax after resection of esophageal cancer and achieved satisfactory results. 1. Materials and Methods: From May 1996 to April 1998, esophageal cancer patients who were not admitted to hospital on admission were randomly divided into experimental group (A group) and control group (B group), each with 202 cases. The first 100 patients in group A received oral administration before surgery.
