地中海贫血是一组性质类似而临床表现多型性的遗传性疾病,有些β地中海贫血基因的纯合于临床表现较重型地中海贫血者轻,只有中度贫血,血红蛋自可维持于6～8克%,通常不需要输血,生长发育正常,可活到成年,称为中间型地中海贫血。我们在苏州地区发现的2例地中海贫血亦属于这一类型,报道如下。
Thalassemia is a group of hereditary diseases with similar clinical manifestations and polymorphisms. Some homozygous β-thalassemia genes are mild in clinical manifestations of severe thalassemia, with only moderate anemia. The hemoglobin is maintained at 6-8 G%, usually do not need blood transfusion, growth and development of normal, can live to adulthood, called intermediate thalassemia. Two of the cases of thalassemia found in Suzhou are also of this type, reported below.
