1979年7月11日,时任中共中央副主席、全国人大常委会委员长的叶剑英来到颐和园中的藻鉴堂,看望了应文化部之邀在这里创作和休息的一群画家,并即兴挥毫赋诗:“画家渔叟喜相逢,明媚湖山写意浓。清代兴亡昨日事,匠心钩出万山松。”这首当初以《无题》命名的七绝在后来收入《叶剑英诗词选集》时,定名为《藻鉴堂赠画家》。一1979年7月27日,全国各大报纸第一版均以较大的篇幅刊登新华社26日发表的电讯:
