In the late 1970s and 1980s, both Japan and Western Europe devoted themselves to the longevity of blast furnaces. At that time, the life of blast furnaces built generally reached about 10 years, some of them nearly 15 years. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the life of blast furnaces built in these countries was more than 15 years. In the 1980s, some blast furnace longevity technologies were developed and applied in our country, and some blast furnaces have reached or are expected to reach 8 to 10 years. In the future, we will make the life of most blast furnaces reach more than eight years. At the same time, we must also start to design and construct a blast furnace with a life of 15 years. To make the blast furnace life of more than 8 years, the hearth and the lower part of the shaft (including the waist, bosh) is still to give full attention to the two weak parts.
