Vitra’s music stadium is one of the architectural designs that France has suffered most from public opinion in recent years. Designer Ludi Ricciotti called it “the black box with a red background.” This rock concert hall has a strong sculptural style and is a “boulder building.” It resembles an ore-like gray-black body that shook with the shock of Marseille rock or sports competition. This work, like the anti-design declaration, is anti-regular, which is determined by the environment and use of the building. The city of Vitol is an industrial and commercial city with a population of 39,000. The construction site of the music stadium in Vitoll was originally an industrial waste dump, which piled up red waste from the nearby bauxite area and was later used as a public garbage dump. It is in this “no man’s field” that the municipal government of Vitoria decided to build a music stadium for rock concerts, sports competitions, and various performances. The building has an area of 6,000 square meters, and the construction cost is 65 million francs allocated by the municipal government. The building materials used are mainly concrete: the external walls of the building are gray-black concrete, and the interior floor is polished concrete.
