There are increasing plans for free trade agreements between Singapore, the United States, Canada, Japan and powerful partners in the economy. In September 2013, the EU’s Trade Directorate published the full text of the EU-Singapore FTA on its website. The new agreement will be the second major agreement signed between the EU and its Asian trading partners following the EU-South Korea agreement. In addition, the EU is also trying to reach a free trade agreement with many other countries, such as the negotiations with the United States starting in 2013 and the finalization of the full text of the EU-Canada free trade agreement starting in 2014.
