While looking forward to the arrival of the new weapons system, the U.S. Army officials are committed to modernizing and rearranging Maneuvering Units by enhancing the technical performance of existing combat vehicles. While the Army is looking for a lighter, more lethal and rapidly deployable system that uses revolutionary leaps and bounds, vehicles such as Abrams and Bradley are still the main gear in the Army. Major-General Peter C. Franklin, assistant chief of staff for the Research, Development and Procurement Office of the U.S. Army, said: “Many of these systems will still be equipped with 'acquired army.'”
