著名书法家古桂高每次与笔者提及广东广雅中学,无不感慨万千。他指出这间由清朝两广总督张之洞在广州荔湾西村创办的学校英才辈出,与它相关的师生如张之洞、梁鼎芬、梁漱溟、祝嘉等人,都是为近代中国文化增辉的人物。古桂高的书法老师之一是麦少麟。麦少麟的书法是学习大书法家吴道镕,而广雅中学著名的藏书楼“冠冕楼”上那三个充满书卷气的字,就是由曾任广雅书院监督(即校长)的吴道镕书写。有了这一层关系,古桂高对广雅中学更有感
